Since 1979, Alfatronix has been manufacturing innovative voltage conversion and onboard charging products here in the UK for use throughout the automotive industry and distribution across the globe.

Unrivalled product choice, brand adaptability and engineering ingenuity has provided the foundation to which the company boasts an impressive portfolio of products that are installed on nearly all buses and coaches nationwide whether it’s USB charging to enhance the passenger experience, a voltage converter to power CCTV camera systems and ticket machines or simply a low voltage disconnect to prevent the vehicle battery from becoming depleted.

Since the launch of the original USB type A chargers back in 2016 and due to the increasing use of smart devices on public transport, Alfatronix has produced a variety of charging products to include the Podsole, wireless and USB charging console, and is now celebrating the arrival of its new range of USB A and C and C only chargers all designed by a dedicated team of engineers and produced by highly experienced technicians here in Poole, Dorset.

With the new charger products installed and successfully trialled on the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 Uni Bus branded vehicles operated by Go South Coast, we’re delighted to offer our new innovative range of chargers to the industry. With all of the usual branding options, customisation, and fully certified we have a product for everyone.

“It was important to select a bus route that would target the demographic of the passengers to trial the USB A and C charging points and also monitor their durability for the inordinate use on a daily basis before releasing the new products into the industry. We’re so pleased to have worked with Steve Hamilton, Engineering Director, Go South Coast and the team to have completed what has been a very successful vehicle trial and express our thanks.” Claire Phillips, Sales Director.

“We’re delighted to have been involved in this project. We know that smartphone usage in the UK is continuing to grow year on year, and we chose a Unibus vehicle as our pilot because many students travel on these buses – with the majority of their ticketing sold via our dedicated Unibus app.

“Technology is especially important to young people, and it is essential we encourage them to use public transport beyond their studying years – as buses have a vital role to play in the future health and well-being of communities they serve.” Steve Hamilton, Go South Coast engineering director.

With technology developing rapidly, customers and passengers have greater demand for versatile charging onboard which is why we, as a business, are continuously striving to exceed expectations and deliver the latest wireless or USB charging, battery charging, battery management and voltage conversion products. With engineering knowledge and expertise at the heart of the company, we understand vehicle electrical systems and the products required to keep the customer moving.

We are exceptionally proud of our achievements over the years and look forward to serving the industry we are so passionate about in the years to come.
